I. 2022-2023 Seasonal Influenza Epidemic Situation Analysis

The latest influenza surveillance report shows that influenza activity has increased this year compared to the previous year. Globally, the level of influenza activity has increased since February 2022, with the peak of the influenza epidemic occurring in March, dominated by subtype A(H3N2) (Figure 1). The recent trend of influenza-like cases in the southern provinces of China has been rising rapidly, especially in the last two weeks, when influenza-like cases have exceeded the same period of the previous three years, with nearly 98% of the A(H3N2) subtype as the absolute predominant (Fig. 2), and has caused a number of congregate outbreaks of epidemic, mainly in secondary and primary schools. These data suggest that we need to pay attention to influenza prevention and control under the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
